Oaxaca is both a city and state in Mexico - the state is the southern neighbor of Acapulco, Guerrero and borders the
Pacific Ocean. Popular tourist destinations in Oaxaca are Huatulco and
Puerto Escondido, which receive many
tourists from Germany, France, Italy, and other countries in Europe. The region has retained much of the Mexican culture,
original architecture, and natural beauty, which all contribute to the growing popularity of its ecotourism industry.
Places to visit include the villages of Hierve el Agua, San Sebastian de las Grutas, San Francisco Yosocuta,
Santiago Apoala, and Benito Juárez. In addition, Oaxaca has lovely beaches, jungles, a temperate climate,
and is known for its delicious, string-like cheese.
