Monterrey, Mexico

Monterrey, Mexico, Hotels

Monterrey, capital of the State of Nuevo León, is Mexico’s 3rd largest city and along with Mexico City is the center of Mexican industry. Surrounded by the Sierra Madre mountains, Monterrey is quite modern and (generally) has a cooler climate and a higher cost of living than other regions of the country. The Macroplaza contains most of the city's sights and attractions. You can also visit the older part of the city, Barrio Antiguo, and the Zona Rosa for shopping expeditions. There are also national parks and mountains for those who enjoy hiking. However, since it is fairly "Americanized", you may not feel like you are actually visiting Mexico.
